Craig Brian Larson has a nice article on something I hadn't really thought of. He calls it The Blind Spot of the Spiritual Formation Movement. He says "listening to a sermon is a spiritual discipline that needs to be learned."
He lists nine things that individual Bible reading, memorization, and meditation do not do that sound biblical preaching will do. He also says one of the reasons many people do not value preaching is because preachers don't teach on how to listen properly to a sermon. Good point. Good article.
