Ten thousand villages trip

Our church took a field trip to the local Ten Thousand Villages store last night. They are a supplier of fair trade jewelry, home decor, gifts, and more. We had about 30 people attend. I thought that was pretty good. We started off with a catered meal in their basement (thanks Joan), listened to a program about the company and their mission, and then we went upstairs and could shop. I bought some incense. You know, for when I get incensed about things. I bought lavender, so our worship gatherings should be nice and mellow for awhile.

On a side note, the lady who gave the talk (and works there) attended our church as a child. She was in an auto accident when she was 3 years old, and they said she either wouldn't make it or she would be a vegetable all her life. Our church went to prayer for her, and she made a complete recovery. Crazy.

Here are some pics...

Here we are gathered in the basement feeding our faces.

Shopping (That's Jane with the big red purse).

Jane and Shelley fighting over merchandise (or something).

I'm sad I couldn't go...looks like quite a few people who don't attend church went. How exciting!

See ya tomorrow.
