Started up sunday school again

I almost forgot... we started up our Sunday School classes again this past Sunday (or 'Sunday Morning Small Groups'). For the past several years we have taken the summer off, and just run the classes from September through May. When we do that we then have Junior Worship for the entire worship hour on Sunday mornings (10-11). Now that we're back to having classes, Jr. Worship is just during the sermon time and after (usually 10:30-11).

I was glad that we didn't appear to have lost anyone from last year (maybe 1 or 2, not sure yet). That's always a concern of mine, because it's so easy to get out of the habit of being a part of a class. I think it's been good to give our teachers a break though, and it creates a bit of excitement as we start and stop. We actually started a new adult class again this year too, and it had 6 people in it for the first session. The twenty-something class has disbanded though, but they have filtered into another class. They may start up again later, but it just didn't work out right now.

All in all, we have an Elementary Class (basically everyone below high school; and they had 11 yesterday); a High School Class (I think there were 4, and a brand new teacher, who did a super job); and there are 4 Adult Classes. If we add anymore classes I think we're going to have to use our house, or else have them meet at another time and/or place. That would be a nice problem to have.

Oddly enough, the senior citizens class is doing Rob Bell's 'Nooma' videos, and they love them. Jane's class is using Francis Chan's book and dvd study "Crazy Love." She is afraid she might have too many in her class, but it should still be good. I'm not sure what the other two classes are doing. I know that I have been told, I just can't remember right now.

So, yeah, that's what's up with that.
