Great books & films about jesus

In the appendix of Michael Frost's great little book, "Surprise The World: The Five Habits of Highly Missional People," he has a list of great books about Jesus, as well as great films about Jesus. I think they are both quite good, and I want to list them here for future reference - especially the films.

GREAT BOOKS ABOUT JESUS

  • The Challenge of Jesus - N.T. Wright
  • The Life: A Portrait of Jesus - J. John
  • Following Jesus: A Non-Religious Guidebook for the Spiritually Hungry - Dave Roberts
  • Velvet Elvis: Repainting the Christian Faith - Rob Bell
  • A Spectator's Guide to Jesus - John Dickson
  • God in the Flesh - Don Everts
  • Mealtime Habits of the Messiah - Conrad Gempf
  • The Jesus of Suburbia: Have We Tamed the Son of God to Fit Our Lifestyle? - Mike Erre
  • Paradoxy: Coming to Grips with the Contradiction of Jesus - Tom Taylor
  • Jesus Through Middle Eastern Eyes - Kenneth Bailey

GREAT FILMS ABOUT JESUS
  • The Gospel According to St. Matthew (1964)
  • Godspell (1973)
  • Jesus of Nazareth (1977) (6-hr miniseries)
  • Jesus of Montreal (1989)
  • The Passion of the Christ (2004)
