My mom gave me this chair as my Christmas present this year. It was from the Sunday School classroom where I went as a child. Somehow she managed to get two of them and refurbished them and gave one to my sister and one to me.
I didn't attend Sunday School very often as a child (as little as possible), but we did always attend the local Methodist church in town. It has sat empty for many years now. They merged it with another town's Methodist church and closed this one down. A private citizen bought the building and keeps it up somewhat (I guess).

At any rate, I like these kinds of gifts. They have sentimental value but are also useful (It's just the right size for the grandkids).
