It doesn't have quite the same ring to it as Purple Rain, but at any rate, my toe is purple. It's the one next to my big toe on my right foot. I stubbed it on the sliding glass door last Friday night as I was carrying our steaks in from the grill. I knew I hit it pretty hard, but it wasn't until the next day I realized just how much it hurt.
It feels a lot better now, and I don't even notice it most of the time. It's still purple south of the nail - kind of on the knuckle part.
I haven't run since then, but I don't think it will be a problem at this point. Still, that's probably the worst I've ever stubbed a toe.
