First day back to work
Today is my first day back to work in two days shy of 10 weeks (I think). As you can see, it is not too busy.
Some things are different - I'm wearing a mask, machine spacing, no social spaces or coffee, some cleaning procedures - but it didn't take long for things to seem like nothing ever happened.
It was actually busier than I anticipated early on. I opened at the usual 5 am, and the first person arrived at 5:05. By 8 it was pretty dead though. When I took the pic there wasn't a soul in the place, and even now there is only one person, who is using an elliptical. I work until noon today.
I am trying to have a better attitude with this reopening. Although, I must admit, as I tossed and turned in bed last night and on the drive in this morning... there are so many things that annoy me about working here. Almost all of them deal with management, and I'm sure it is no different anywhere else... so, like I said, I'm trying to have a better attitude.
Anyway, I feel very fortunate to have had a couple months off work. I'm not thrilled to be back, and making half as much as I was for those near-10 weeks... but it is what it is. Until I find something else.
I'm glad you can go back. I may never go back.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck with the attitude. It can be our greatest challenge.
