On the run again

Well, I am back to regular running again. Nothing spectacular still - right around a 10-minute/mile pace - but I'm feeling good leg-wise and breathing-wise.

Friday I did a 4-mile jog alternating quarters between 5 mph and 6 mph, and then the usual mile walk afterward. That is my farthest continuous run so far this season.

This morning I did a 5k in 31 minutes (10-min/mile average pace). That is my fastest continuous run so far this season.

For the most part I've been running 3 days a week, lifting 2 days a week (egym), and I try to do a bodyweight bootcamp workout 1 day a week.

The only issue continues to be my right foot/ankle on occasion. It actually seems worse when I go several days WITHOUT doing something. I've also discovered that I can't wear anything higher than an ankle sock or my right ankle hurts. That seems weird, but I guess it is what it is.

I've been trying to make incremental increases on a weekly basis (rather than run by run). So next week I hope to start work on increasing speed. A little. The achillis pain is still fresh in my mind, so I want to go slow and be smart about it. The older I get the more concerned about injuries I get. It takes longer to recover, and you never know when it may just be the end. I don't want that to happen if I can help it.
