Pictures from California and back

This is me on the last day of the National Pastor's Convention in sunny San Diego, CA. The squinty eyes are from the sun; the stupid grin is from being sick to my stomach. I happened to spot this lovely lady sitting in the courtyard. Imagine that, the most beautiful woman on this 45-acre resort, and she let me take her picture!
This was "one" of the pools at the hotel (I think I heard there were six?). This was the heated one though - so it got the most use. That's not our building in the background, but we were in a similar one off to the right.
And... the day after we get back home... this view across our front yard. You can't make out the blowing snow too good, but believe me, it is BLOWING.
I'm not sure how I managed to get this pic to look like this, but I thought it was a cool shot of the same scene.

I've connected the dots on that last photo and it's an image of the virgin Mary.

Okay, not really, but the Catholic church will pay a pretty penny for a good Mary sighting. Take that grilled cheese sandwich for instance. If that casino hadn't outtbid them on e-bay, it would be hanging in the Vatican right now, bite mark and all.

Oops, I think I ate that grilled cheese sandwich. Probably what gave me a stomach ache.

But that makes me think of another great idea... we should be out making snow angels, so we could sell 'em on e-bay! Probably better than a bake sale.

What a lovely pre-Valentine's Day "treat" for Jane :). Wives always like their husbands to tell the world they're beautiful!

This resort looks beautiful! And my, what you came home to...geez, Dan, talk about night and day (quite literally, in this case).

No "real" time to catch up in my blog reading...but it looks like you have several I'll come back to. Welcome back home to your own artic tundra of sorts.
