Love is not love if it is simply a matter of obeying rules, running errands, and performing duties. Some things we do just because we enjoy being in the presence of our loved one. So we sing songs, write poetry, dance, clap our hands, share food, or simply prop up our feet and do nothing but enjoy being with one another. In these purposeless moments of sheer enjoyment, we come very close to what love is all about.
If someone asked a Christian, “What’s the purpose of your worship? Why do you gather on Sunday and sing songs, dress up, kneel, march in processions, clap your hands, shed tears, speak, eat, and listen?” We could only say, “Because we are in love.”

Kind of weird, although I realize there's a lot of overlap in the blogosphere, but I saw a HT to Willimon this week on another blog. Prior to that (and this), I had never heard of the guy. One mention, I might notice, two, it's definite.
His last line is...BEAUTIFUL!
And btw, bite me...I've been relegated to second tier! BUT, it's good company, so I'll quit my whinin' ;).
(kidding for the most part, a link in your sidebar is more than I give any of MY readers :/...)
Robin,
Oh, don't get your toes all up in a curl. No need to shed a tear, because there are no "tiers" here. They are just two different groupings, for different reasons. I don't like it when I see someone put "Blogs I always read" and "Less important blogs" or whatever - especially when I'm in the less important category. I mean, because, you know, my blog is SUPREMELY important in the whole scope of the universe thing. :)
But seriously, they are not tiers. Just two different groups. I'm not steppin' on anybody's toes. Yer either in or yer outta here!
And... I like Will Willimon. He's a bit different than me, but I like his stuff (you know, in a manly man way, of course).
Funny, I was just readin' some stuff on inclusivism and exclusivism...
Curly toes, now that's even a new one for ME!
