Emerging posters
Awhile ago I ran across a set of posters someone made that were making fun of the emerging church. Whatever. I didn't really get it, and don't really care. But I see Mike C. wrote a nice post comparing them to another set that have now been made in response (two examples above). He asks "Which Set Best Represents Your Faith?" I have to say, you should click HERE to see the entire set of posters on Grace's blog. They are stunning. That IS the kind of faith I want to be associated with - I don't care what it's called.

Wow. What power. Thanks for posting this link, Dan. I'm with you - this is what I want.
You're welcome, Joan. I'm picturing these as a slide show, but can't think of a fitting song to play in the background.
ani defranco -- "when i'm gone"
maybe? or something like that, not churchy but meaningful? I'm sure we can come up with something. Alex is looking, too. Love these slides.
Not sure if anyone is still reading this post. "When I'm Gone" would be a great song to use here. Unfortunately I was unable to find a suitable download of it. However, I think the Delirious? song "Lord, You Have My Heart" goes perfectly with the slides - even arranged in alphabetical order. I plan to show it as a powerpoint show next Sunday.
Many thanks again to Grace for making these! Powerful stuff.
Hi Dan! It's nice to "meet" you. I'm happy you were able to use the posters. Another pastor in England talked about doing a worship slide show also.
Hi Grace! Nice of you to stop by. I was actually just tweaking the slideshow for this Sunday. It will be beautiful.
Also, sorry for removing my comment from your blog. Nothing personal, you know. I was feeling a bit small that day. Not like you needed more comments anyway. :)
Thanks again for the posters.
No problem Dan. I usually reply to comments (eventually), but that thread got away from me. I just wanted you to know that I was happy with the idea of them being used during worship. I prefer they are used in a positive way instead of for furthering argument in the blog poster war.
BTW, I am interested in your blog because a small town in the middle of nowhere is also the context where I am working out what it means to live missionally.
I think it presents a unique aspect to the whole conversation because it isn't urban, but it's not necessarily suburban either, although I find the discussion of suburban missional living is somewhat comparable to the small town culture.
Blessings to you and your ministry.
Grace,
Yes, it seems most of "the conversation" is limited to an urban/suburban context. Rural/small town certainly has its unique-ities. If you figure something out, please let me know. :)
