Mother's day or pentecost

Tomorrow is Mother's Day - a day set aside each year to honor Mothers. This year it also happens to fall on Pentecost Sunday - which marks the birth of the church (Acts 2). These are both very significant events in my mind. Mother's deserve to be honored, and I think the church is pretty darn important too (whether you're against the "organized" church or not, I find it hard for someone to say they're a Christian and not be about the body of Christ). So... my question is, which should a pastor/worship leader focus on this Sunday? Should it be more about Mother's Day, or more about Pentecost? Or does anybody really care?

Pentecost is about the Spirit giving life to the Body of Christ, aka the Church (IC or not :o). Mothers are about giving life to each individual body on the planet, including Jesus. So I think it's not an either/or decision - it can be both, because the focus can be on the breath of life - breathed into the church by the Spirit, and breathed into each one of us by the Spirit through our mothers.

Or something.

Pentecost is actually the birthday of Missions...the Church existed before Pentecost

Jim,
That's sorta how I plan to present it. Thanks for the comment.

Anonymous,
I don't really like anonymous comments, but to me, as an evangelical Christian, I still argue that Pentecost marks the birth of the church. I guess I could have said "missional church", but I don't like that word.

May the Wind blow mighty today.
