Nebraska (the movie)

We rented our second Redbox movie ever the other night and got the movie Nebraska. We had heard bits and pieces about it and thought it sounded good. So last night we watched it. It was good. The IMDb blurb says of it:
An aging, booze-addled father makes the trip from Montana to Nebraska with his estranged son in order to claim a million-dollar Mega Sweepstakes Marketing prize.

If you're looking for fast cars, pretty girls, and lots of action - this movie may not be for you. But if you are into character study, childhood memories, and personal relationships... you just might enjoy it.

It is a very slow-moving film for the most part, but it's pretty funny and a little touching throughout. It reminded me a bit of 'Fargo,' but also of 'going home' - personally. A slower-paced time when life seemed easier. Plus, Bruce Dern is splended, and even though June Squibb won a well-deserved Oscar nomination, I really liked the role of the sons, Will Forte and Bob Odenkirk (Sol on Breaking Bad).

Anyway, you know me and movie reviews - the only thing I know about is whether I liked it or not - and I liked this movie. It was great on a cold Monday night with m'Lady, wrapped up in a blanket in the living room. So... there.
