A weak week

I am glad last week is over. It was a bear. Mostly because of work. I don't know if I've mentioned on the blog about changing our computer software at work. Apparently they didn't like the old software, and they switched to a different company I guess because it's more popular. Unfortunately no one bothered to check it out before the switch so when it happened, literally nobody knew what they were doing. It's getting better, but I'm still not sure it's a better system.

Anyway, suffice it to say there were a couple days I seriously thought I was going to quit - do to the stress - and there was one day I actually thought I might get fired. I ended up having to make a trip to my doctor one day because my blood pressure was so high. But, I think things are starting to settle down a little. I'm still not sure if I'm a good fit with this company or not, but what's an old man like me to do at this point.

The week ended with Jane and I doing our last long run before the half-marathon (10 miles), and we kept the kids overnight Saturday into Sunday. It was also the second of three Sundays we've been involved in an after-church study called 'Every Day Workshops.' It's a discipleship tool taught by our pastor. I will likely share more about it later.

This week I start off tomorrow with a meeting with my lawyer for the pending work case. It is also my week off from running as I prepare for the half this coming Saturday. I am happy for the rest from running for a time.

It felt weird not writing at all last week. I don't remember the last time I did that. I was literally too busy and/or worn out every day to find any time at all to write. Most of the time it wouldn't have been suitable anyway. Hopefully that will change a bit now.
