I took the 2013 Honda Accord in for service yesterday. The indicator came on that the oil life was at 15%, and apparently that means it's time for it to be changed (rather than number of miles or date). It was also the first time I'd taken it to the dealership for service (or anywhere for that matter).
I made a reservation online. It was a little confusing because there was nothing to say that I merely needed an oil change. It was then complicated due to my stupidity, because I actually showed up a week early for the appointment and had to go back on the scheduled date. Anyway, other than that, it went well.
Since we bought the car at the dealership an oil change is only $12.95. That's pretty hard to beat, especially when they also wash the car. We had also been notified that there was a recall on our car to fix something on the battery mount, so they took care of that while I was there.
So I showed up at the service garage at 9:45, pulled up to a bay door and waited for them to open it, and pulled it inside. I was assigned to the proper person who went over everything, then he showed me the waiting area. He said it would be about an hour and 20 minutes with the warranty repair, and it was almost exactly that! I paid the $13, and I was done. It allowed me some reading time, and was pretty darn convenient!
