I'm not sure where I even stumbled onto this article by Josh Spector at fortheinterested.com, but I signed up for his weekly emails after reading it. I like his stuff because it's short, simple, and to the point.
In regard to writing, he says:
- Delete the word "that"
- Delete the words "I think"
- Avoid words that end in "-ing"
- Short sentences. Short paragraphs.
- Shrink your opening sentence
Now, granted, my "style" on this blog is somewhat more conversational. Still, this is something I can learn from.
