Simple tips to improved writing

I'm not sure where I even stumbled onto this article by Josh Spector at fortheinterested.com, but I signed up for his weekly emails after reading it. I like his stuff because it's short, simple, and to the point.

In regard to writing, he says:
  • Delete the word "that"
  • Delete the words "I think"
  • Avoid words that end in "-ing"
  • Short sentences. Short paragraphs.
  • Shrink your opening sentence
You can catch the short descriptions and examples by reading the article.

Now, granted, my "style" on this blog is somewhat more conversational. Still, this is something I can learn from.
