I made this coat rack on Thanksgiving morning this year. It's been one of those days so far.
The kids were elsewhere for Thanksgiving Day, and my parents are likely home alone in Illinois. Who knows what or where my sister is. So, while Jane was preparing the food for our family gathering tomorrow night, I did several odd jobs around the house.
I had a few pallet ends laying around from when I worked at the storage place. I intended to make a bunch of coat racks, shelves, or wine racks. I made some, but haven't done anything with these last ones taking up space in my garage.
This one needed to be shortened, so I took it apart, cut it, and put it back together. I know I have a bunch of old hooks somewhere, but do you think I can find them? So I went to Walmart on Thanksgiving Day and bought these hooks.
Other things I've done today...
- I slept in - until around 8 am, then read the internets while Jane made us breakfast. Then...
- I built the coat rack.
- I climbed up on the roof of the house and blew the leaves from the valleys.
- I ran the mower out of gas and put it away for the winter, while also getting the snow blower out and making sure it started.
- I cleaned the garage up a little bit.
- I hung the bicycles up for the winter (the ones I could; the others are parked inside the garage).
- I picked up sticks in the yard.
- Since we have the Atlanta Horwedels set to arrive later this evening, I also cleaned the bathroom they will be using.
