A new watch

I bought a new watch last Saturday. It's exactly like my last one, and the one before that, and the one before that! :)

Once again I purchased a Timex (Indiglo) Easy Reader 35 mm Expansion Band Watch (wr 30m). I remember when they used to cost $15. This one was $41.99 (on sale from $60).

I like the simple look and feel of this watch. Someone actually had it advertised as "retro." Whatever. It's just a watch. It tells time, has a second hand, and gives the date. What more or less could you want? (I know, I know... I also have a GPS watch for running. But I have no desire for a "smart" watch that does it all. Boundaries, ya know...). Maybe I am old-fashioned for wanting a watch like this. If so, so be it.

Anyway, according to my archives, I bought the last one in September 2009. It still works "okay" even though it's pretty beat up looking... but the band had come apart and my repair work didn't hold very long. It was time for a new one. ;)

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:

a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
