My vaccine reaction so far

The wife and I both had our first dose of the Moderna vaccine for the coronavirus this past weekend. We each had the same reaction: a sore arm at the injection site. And by sore I mean SORE! It felt like someone took a baseball bat and wailed away on my arm! Fortunately it went away by the end of the weekend.

I/we didn't feel anything until several hours after the shot. I had mine at 11:30 am Friday. By Friday night it not only hurt to move my arm, but I had such a pulsing deep pain that I broke down and took an ibuprofen before bed - and I hardly EVER take any type of pain killer!

Saturday morning it felt better but was still difficult to lift my arm. By Sunday I felt almost back to normal and it didn't bother me at all. Today is perfectly fine.

Jane had her shot one day behind me, and her reaction followed the same course.

I don't know that we had any other reaction. We were both plenty tired, but it's hard to tell on a weekend if it had anything to do with the vaccine or just the week we'd had.

As we prepare for dose number two in a few weeks... I anticipate some kind of reaction again. I will likely try to hydrate as much as possible before the second shot, and continue after. I've heard they recommend Gatorade. But... who knows.
