Yesterday was a good day. Partly because it was Friday, and I like Fridays.
It was mostly because I completed my longest run since injuring my achilles tendon late last year. Hopefully this will be the first of many double-digit runs this year.
I ran 10 miles at a just-under 11 minute pace, and walked .7 miles for a cooldown. It wasn't as fast as I'd like, but I felt comfortable and feel pretty good today. I think it rained on me for 8 miles. At least it was either just a drizzle or light and steady. I didn't mind it at all, but I did have to run through several mud puddles and got my shoes pretty dirty. It may be about time to switch to a new pair anyway.
Also yesterday... Kofi Cockburn announced his decision to return to the University of Illinois basketball team. He had first announced he was going pro, but when he backed out of the draft he then put his name in the transfer portal. It seemed to take most of us fans by surprise as not too many all-americans transfer. However, now it seems to have not been as serious as we thought. Anyway, I was up late celebrating with all my Illini friends I've never met on the message board. It was a fun way to end a good day.
