I actually bought some legit running stuff. I got this Brooks Canopy Jacket last week. It was rated as one of the best winter running jackets, and is supposed to be for cold weather. That's exactly what I wanted, so I swallowed hard and forked over the $120.
Wouldn't you know it, the very day it arrived I see where they went on sale for $90. Plus, I'm not sure this will work as a winter running jacket. It is super light and thin. Not that I can't use it at all, but I'm wondering if I should have went with the Fusion Hybrid Jacket. If it really works in the rain I will probably keep it. I have 90 days to decide.
I went for a run in it the first day I got it. It was 23F with a windchill of 6F. I wore a thin shirt under it and a hoodie over it. It seemed to work okay. We'll have to see how it goes.
Today I got this Seirus Thermax Headliner at Dicks. It's super lightweight and worked well. Temps have been in the teens with windchills in single digits the past couple days. I am still struggling to find a good balance, and end up sweating way too much. This balaclava worked good today in 18F/6 windchill. I can go with just it on my head, then either put up a hood or put my stocking cap on when I cool down at the end.
So, I have something besides Walmart running gear now. Yay!
