Covid

Covid finally caught up with us. Well, at least Jane. It actually happened at the beginning of July but I'm just now getting around to writing about it.

She had been "back home" on the weekend of July 4th, and woke up Tuesday, July 5 not feeling well. She went ahead and went to work, but when she came home a little early I made us both take a covid test. Mine was negative. Hers was almost immediately positive.

She said it felt like a bad cold. For a few days she had a fever, headache, her eyes hurt, she was tired and run down, and had a bad cough. I would add that she seemed to have a bit of brain fog all week too. By the end of the week she was feeling better and back to cooking, and felt like going for a walk. She did finally call her doctor and asked for something for her cough. At this point, three weeks later, she seems fine other than still feeling tired from time to time.

As for me... I've taken test after test and they were all negative. Although, for a week or two before Jane got sick I hadn't been feeling the greatest. There were two days I actually took something for a headache because it was so bad (I rarely take Tylenol, or anything). I'd also had some chest pain while running. While I never thought to check for covid at the time, I suppose it's possible I had a very mild case and gave it to her. It's also just as possible I simply haven't had it yet. So, who knows.

At any rate, I'm glad m'Lady is feeling better, and also glad I've never felt terrible. I had just been thinking that we need to get our second booster before this happened. Whether the vaccine helped or not I do not know, but I doubt very seriously that it hurt to have it.

Such is life.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
    and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
    and he will make your paths straight.
