Trip to buda

We made a quick weekend trip back to the old hometown this past weekend. We left on Friday afternoon when Jane got home from work. We headed back to Fort Wayne Sunday mid-morning. Both trips were uneventful and in the 4:15-4:30 range (the time I would like to run my marathons).

I was not feeling the greatest. It seems like I've had a cough and cold for going on four weeks now. My foot also hurt pretty bad Saturday. I was finally able to get out in the afternoon and clean my mom's gutters, pick up sticks, cover her air conditioning unit, roll up the patio rug, and a couple other things.

Mostly I was happy I could watch the second half of the Illini basketball game Friday night, and then watch football most of the day/night Saturday. Cable TV does have its perks. Though I wish the Illinois football game had turned out different. The only two games I've watched this year were both defeats. So I guess it's my fault.

Jane went shopping with my mom Saturday morning, then spent most the rest of the day/evening at her brother Keith's.

All in all it was a pretty low-key and relaxing weekend. Unfortunately it was cold, and we had snow on the roof of our house when we got home.

I am ready to start feeling better - both my foot, and this stinking cold.
