Better dead or alive?

Spent Sunday night at my parents house. The church they attended closed earlier this month and my parents are both on the committee in charge of what to do now. They sold the building and contents and took in around $70,000 (I think). So they are trying to decide how to dish out the money; who to help; etc.

It's interesting... because they can offer quite a bit of assistance to a needy ministry. So, are they able to offer more now that the church is dead than when it was alive? I mean, there have only been about 10 people actively attending worship there. And I don't know that they did much else beyond that. I'm not real sure what, if any, difference it really made in anyone's life - even the people who attended there. But now, it's like they have a new purpose. And I would think most of them will find another church to hook up with.

What about your church... does it have more to offer the kingdom dead or alive?
