She's gone home

Jane's mom, Sarah Pratt, passed away around 12:30 this afternoon. She went very peacefully. Much of the family was there (Jane and 3 brothers, plus several grandchildren. One son is still enroute from Colorado). She was a devout Christian woman and her husband, Allen, passed away 25 years ago. I don't know if we'll know one another in heaven, but if so... they are most assuredly having one whale of a reunion today.

FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS:
Visitation will be at Bunker Hill Church of God, 322 School St., Buda, IL on Wednesday from 5-8 pm. The funeral will also be at Bunker Hill - Thursday at 10 am.
This was a tough time for Jane, but this really is for the best. Sarah has been in pain for quite some time with arthritis. God bless her.

peace.

I am sorry for your loss. I've been to a church in Buda once. I think it was Bunker Hill, but I'm not exactly sure. I know an older couple who used to go there. Do you by chance know Bill and Pat Jackson?

Having watched loved ones suffer in varying capacities, I have come to believe wholeheartedly that death is often merciful deliverance. That in no way minimizes the loss, or lessons the broken-hearted grief for those left behind, but especially since you're convinced of Sarah's state of heart, I pray there's some comfort in remembering the bittersweet.

Praising God for cherished memories, love abounding, amazing grace and perfect peace, and praying that Jane and you, her brothers, your kids and all the family cling to those intangible "tangibles" now and in the days ahead.

Darrell, Tom & Robin,
Thanks for your thoughts & prayers. I appreciate it, as does Jane.

Emily,
Thanks for the condolences. Bunker Hill has only been "in" Buda for about 5 years (it used to be south of town a couple of miles). And... I know some of the Jackson's in Buda, but am not familiar with Bill & Pat. I imagine they're related though. Cool!
Thanks,
dh
