I am hesitant to post a link to this post because... (1) I don't know that it's all that bad for me (right now). I believe I am in a rather unique situation compared to many pastors; and (2) Thinking about it only makes me feel worse. But, it's an interesting piece on the state of being a pastor. And I really don't think a lot of people realize just what it's like. Not that other jobs aren't difficult too, but some people really do think we only work one day a week. I did actually have a hard time getting health insurance when I first became a pastor - because of the occupational hazard rating coupled with my specific preexisting conditions.

This is why I attend a weekly occupational abandonment clinic on Sundays. We pretty much check our profession at the door and talk about the most inane, trivial stuff. I believe there's a pastor in that group. We're all focusing on Kim, now, who can't seem to stop working, even during the clinic.
Hey, that sounds like a great idea!! And I hear Rachel 'wants' to join the group, but feels she's gotta work even more now.
And on the subject of trivia, I have to post a retraction. I don't know who put the idea in my head, but if I don't remember the source, I like to re-verify. Anyhow, Richard Dreyfus and Julia-Louise Dreyfus are no relation whatsoever. If I could remember who told me that, I would blame them, but in this case, I'm left holding the bag.
Man, I'm glad you set me straight on this, because if I hadn't forgotten I probably would have passed on false information by now. I'm sure I would have remembered when Seinfeld came on tonight though.
I think it was an ex-girlfriend who told me that. So if we weren't already broken up, I'd have done it last night when I found out it was bull.
