Jane's surgery
Jane is home and lazing on the couch after having bunion surgery this morning. They lopped off the bone sticking out between her big toe and foot, then screwed the sucker together straight. The hardest part now is supposed to be staying on the couch for a week - only getting up no more than 5 minutes once an hour. And I'm glad she will have a month off of work (at least), but that 'no paycheck' part is going to suck. Bogey does not like the sound the crutches make when she hobbles to the bathroom either.

Lay on the couch for a week and don't go to work for a month?!
I just found my new family doctor!
Dan, a medical journalist you are not. That second sentence was....
Anyway, glad she is doing ok.
Yeah, except she has me taking care of her. I'm not a good patient, and an even worse nurse!
Tom,
What? May not be 'exactly' how the doctor described it, but... that's what happened.
No no, I was just reading about this procedure in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) and the article says: "locate the bunyan on the exterior metatarcel and incise toward the phalanges, then lop off the bone sticking out between their big toe and foot n' screw the sucker together straight."
I hope they gave her some great painkillers that she doesn't want to give up, just because the blog title would rock: "Jane's Addiction"
MR,
Hehehehehehe... Yeah!
I know you've got wireless internet out there, and Jane is couch-bound, so be sure to bring her the laptop every so often so she can start filling her blog.
July 2nd, 2007: today I found sixteen cents under the cushions, things are looking up!
MR,
She has her choice between my pc and Carrie's mac... but I regularly scarf the change. That's my allowance!!!
