Yesterday was our 29th wedding anniversary. We didn't do anything too awful special, but just going out to eat was a real treat right now (with the diet). We decided to go "off diet" for this night (Jane's doctor actually recommended it).
Jane had the day off and not only got quite a bit accomplished around the house, but she also had a nice visit with two of our neighbor ladies. That was a real plus. I worked as usual. Then we headed to Henry's for supper. It is one of our favorite places to eat. Jane had some kind of fish, with rice and potato salad, and her first glass of wine since March. I had the meatloaf special (which I love) - with cheddar mashed potatoes, mixed veggies, and a Newcastle. It was pretty awesome to eat food like that again - it tasted so good. However, I have to admit that I felt "stuffed" afterward... and that's not such a good feeling. It was nice for a night, but now I'm ready to get back to the diet.
After supper we thought about going to a movie, but then remembered that House was on. We missed it last week, and there is only one more show left after this week. So we came home and watched House, and then went to bed. I feel much better at twenty nine years than I have for many of the other ones. Certainly a testament to God's grace, I'm sure.
