Lady Jane had a brief visit to Colorado this past weekend. One of her brothers from Illinois drove to our house, then they flew together to see their brother that lives in Loveland, CO. He just recently had some surgery and is/was staying at a rehab center not far from Loveland.
The two of them left early last Friday morning - flying from Fort Wayne to Chicago to Denver. They rented a car and stayed at a hotel in Loveland. They were able to visit with all three nephews and their families who live in Colorado, so that was nice.
They arrived back in Fort Wayne last night (via Dallas/FW this time). The plane got in at 10:20 pm, so yours truly was able to pick them up at the airport. It felt a little weird picking up people I knew! Of course Denver is two hours behind us, so they were not all that tired when they got home. I stayed up and chatted for a bit, but 4 am came awful early this morning. :)
Keith, the brother they were visiting, has had some health issues for quite some time. For years he's suffered severe back pain, then he started losing feeling in his legs and hands until he could no longer walk. This first surgery was on his neck (I think) to help try to bring some feeling/use back to his arms and legs. I think they will assess the back issue at a later point. Apparently he made it down the hall and back with his walker yesterday for the first time. I think both Jane and Mark were a little surprised at just how bad he was, so I'm glad they went for this visit.
And... that's about all I've got for today...
