Health screening - blood test results

Yesterday I had a series of blood tests done at a wellness screening offered by my employer. Normally I have this done at a local 'Focus on Health' event. This is actually cheaper. As a part-time employee I got the full package of screenings for $25. That's quite a deal!

Anyway, my vitals were: 5' 8", 160 lbs., bp was 160/90 (I know!).

Actually, I've still been trying to get my blood pressure under control (with my doctor's help). This morning it was 130/80 before I'd taken my medicine. Much better than the 200/100 that it had been!

I was curious to see if any of my numbers would be out of whack - possibly causing the bp issues - but that was not the case. In fact, they are better than they've been in every area except one!

I should also note, though, that I was still taking the MethylPREDNIsolone 4mg**. Apparently it didn't make much of a difference.

My cholesterol and LDL are high, but actually lower than they have been in previous years. Triglycerides is the one area that jumped way up - from 115 to 171.

Here is a comparison of the past few years:

So, there ya go. Maybe not 'healthy as a horse'... but fairly healthy for a past-middle-aged man. I guess.
