I kept getting emails about picking up my award from last year's Fort4Fitness marathon. I just ignored them. I guess I thought maybe they sent it to everyone who participated. As stupid as that sounds, I just didn't think there was any way I could have won anything.
I think I may have even looked once to see if I had, by chance, won my age category or something. About all I remember is how hard of a time I had figuring anything out.
Besides, it was a miserable race for me. I ran slower than the previous year. I don't know...
Well, the other day then sent out the "last notification" to come pick up an award. So I replied and asked if I'd actually won something, or if this was just a mass email to everyone. They responded right away and said I got 2nd place in my age division. Well I'll be!! I had no idea!
I was 2nd out of 4 in the men's 55-59 division. Hot dog! So I now have this nice... thing... I don't even know what you call it. I guess it's an... award. I'll try to not let it go to my head. ;)
