My first public appearance in a week
I finally ventured to the grocery store today. It's the first time in a week that I've left the house for anything other than a walk or run.
I probably went a little overboard on preparation. Of course I wore rubber gloves, but I also dug out a pair of shoes I could quarantine in the garage afterward. I grabbed some socks, pants, and a jacket that I planned to wash this afternoon too.
Wouldn't you know it, when I walked in the smallish grocery store down the street from us, one of the cashiers is this 90-year-old-looking lady who has no mask, gloves, or anything! Neither did most of the other employees. Though I was glad the number of people in the store was much less than it had been the last time I was there.
After getting the groceries, I took them home and picked up Jane and we did go out the the Feipel farm. I got them some supplies, and even though we were just going to leave them outside, they told us to come on in. It was nice getting to see them again, even just for a while.
Everything is still pretty up in the air here as far as work, working from home, staying home, and any semblance of returning to "normal." As for me, since Jane is using our main computer, I have decided to start my days by reading instead of looking at the news online. I like it. I've also been forcing myself to either run, walk, or do a home workout every day. Hopefully I can avoid the covid 19 pound gain!
So... that's about all there is to say about that. Not sure when I may venture out again. It seemed a little weird today.
