A friend once suggested that when I am the 'positive voice,' you know things are really bad. I would not disagree.
I'm not exactly feeling overly positive right now. This is probably not even helpful. However, I was thinking earlier today about some good things that have come about due to this covid-19 'stay at home' pandemic.
For starters, we are saving money in a variety of ways:
- We're not driving anywhere, so we're using less gasoline
- We're not eating out, so we're saving that $40-50 each week (or more)
- We're not going to the store as often (I haven't been in a week)
- We created the home office
- We've cleaned under several beds and cleaned out closets
- We cleaned up the garage and I almost filled our garbage bin with unnecessary things
- We eat breakfast together most days - which we don't usually do
- We've been trying to go for a walk or run together each day
- We've been (at least intending to) read together more
So, there are a handful of benefits of staying home. Not to mention the number of sermons one can now watch online, watching more movies together, music being offered online, and probably more phone calls with family.
There really have been some positives. Even if they don't feel all that great right now.
Meh... whatever.
