My homemade cv mask contribution
Well, I tried anyway. I made a couple face masks for us to wear. They are not fancy, but will hopefully suffice.
First off, though... sewing is darn hard! My mom used to manage a sewing factory, and I was the cleaning person for years, but I was ashamed at how little I knew. I couldn't even figure out how to turn our portable sewing machine on!!
Anyway, the blue mask at the top was the first one I tried. I used some material we had for one of the grand kid's curtains for the outside, and an old dish towel for the inside. It did not turn out too well. I started and stopped several times, and had to have Jane help and re-do and finally finish it. I was so down after this attempt that I had to go for a run just to cool off.
Eventually I decided to give it another go. The white mask below is just made out of a hanky I had laying around. I'm pretty sure it was still new. It turned out a little better, but it's still nothing special.
I do still have a couple old dust masks in the garage. I kind of hate to wear them out though because I'm afraid people will ridicule me for not donating them. So, the next time I go out in public, I will likely wear one of these. They are not pretty, and probably won't be all that effective, but it's an effort.
