All good things must one day come to an end. I stopped my running streak last week after six months of running at least a mile every day.
I can't even remember now why I did it. I looked back through my archives and didn't mention it. Anyway, I started November 11, 2021 and ran outside every day through May 11, 2022 (other than Christmas Eve eve when I ran inside on a treadmill due to time constraints).
Interestingly enough, I don't think I could have run last Thursday or Friday anyway. I had either a serious case of seasonal allergies or a head cold, so it worked out nicely. It's weird how already, after only a few days of not running, I don't even think about it. It's like I'm already no longer a runner! I'm not sure how I feel about that.
I will start running again here soon - maybe later this week or next. I will no longer run every day though. I need a couple days of rest each week. For now, I'm enjoying the time off.
Everything feels good. There were a few times over the past six months I got somewhat tired, but that may have been from lack of calories or work or something else. I'm sure the Theragun massages helped a lot.
Here is the updated chart for the past six months of walking and running:
All in all, I'm glad I did it. I learned I can run outside in the winter - which I'd never done before. I don't know if I'll do one again or not. We'll see. Whatever it takes to get through the day...
