Sometimes my morning tea can set the tone for the day even before the first sip.
This morning I got up at my usual weekday 3:50am, fed the cat, did my stretching exercises, got ready for work, and as I pulled out a teabag for its 10-minute steep, I read the little note on the tag.
"What are you grateful for in this moment?"
Believe it or not, there actually ARE things to be grateful for at 4:15 in the morning! The first thing that came to mind as I paused was the sheer SILENCE of the moment. It's dark outside, everything is quiet. There was a STILLNESS that relaxed my soul.
As I drove to work 15 minutes later it was still with me. There seemed more traffic than usual on this random Thursday morning, yet even the slow driver in front of me failed to alter my mood. This is rare because I'm usually in quite a hurry on my way to work. Other people out and about are normally an obstacle... but today it was like I was somehow... unaffected.
The nice thing is, as I sit here still pondering the tag-line, is that we can stop at literally ANY moment during our day and consider what we're grateful for.
So, what are you grateful for in this moment?

Colossians 3:15
"Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful."
