I stumbled across another article, '7 Reasons Why Being A Highly Sensitive Person Is A Strength' (or maybe it's the same one I've read several times), and... I think they're just wrong!
As someone who identifies with everything said of HSPs... I don't buy it. There is nothing good about being like this, and no one sees us as good. We are a pain in the butt to be around. Just like "prophets" in the church. There are a few people who will say we're needed, but no one wants to hear what we have to say and, at best, we may be tolerated by a few people, for awhile.
Not that I'm speaking on behalf of all HSPs or prophets, but from my singular point of view... you can't put a positive spin on either. We are what we are. And I hate being what I are. I'd like to spin!!!
Why can't I be one of those people that're fun to be around. You know, crack jokes, take everything in stride, and everyone loves them!
I know, I know... God made us how we are for a reason (and "God don't make junk!"). Yeah, whatever. The reason might be, though, that he wants us to finally have a laugh when this world ends - at just how silly we were for taking everything so serious!
I started reading G.K. Chesterton's 'Orthodoxy' this morning. They say he was such a good apologist because he had a way of making people like him.
Chesterton was also said to have replied to a request for an essay on 'What's Wrong With the World' by simply stating, "I am."
Me too.
