Seldom do I stop reading a book before I'm finished. I just did it with Aesop's Fables though.
To be fair, I'd only began reading the 1947 version of the book as a sort of "in-between" way to bide time before going on vacation. I kept reading it afterward because I wasn't sure where else to go. And it was nice. I would read anywhere from 3-5 fables a day, also enjoying the drawings. It kept me slowed down and in a contemplative space.
I think I'd gotten to p.106 and just felt like I needed something else though. I don't know if it was Jamaica, vacation in itself, getting sick, or what... but I feel a bit broken down. My mojo is missin'.
So today I picked up Philip Yancey's 'The Jesus I Never Knew' again. I remember liking that book from 1995. For some reason I've been thinking about reading it for the past couple months. I'm sure it won't be quite the same, but I could use ... somethin'.
Hopefully this will help.
