I don't do life "on the fly" very well. I don't like when plans change, when someone throws a curve ball, or unexpected surprises occur. Shoot, I'm having a hard time trying to adjust to parking in a new spot at work!
I feel bad about this sometimes. Like, why can't I just go with the flow? Why can't I simply stroll happily through life like "everyone else?" Why do I have to be so difficult?
Well... I googled "the opposite of spontaneous." Rather than it being the total negative I was thinking, some antonyms are: self-conscious, intentional, deliberate, prepared, careful, refined, calculated, considered, learned, planned out, thoughtful, meticulous, studied, etc.
So I guess it's not all bad. There is apparently a need for people like me. Sometimes it's nice to be reminded of such.
As for the parking space: It actually has been an adjustment. For the past several years I've had a tag to park in a lot two blocks away from where I work. And I liked the walk to and from my car each day through downtown. However, we recently had our lease renegotiated and the building owners gave us some spots in the parking garage attached to my workplace. So I can often SEE my car from where I stand all day. You would think that would be great - and it is - but even still... it's different. Therefore it's also an adjustment.
Such is life. For people like me we must occasionally remind ourselves things are okay though.
