I doubt this post has much interest to you, but I wanted to jot something down for myself for the day I need to search for it... [NOTE TO DAN: The comparison sheet from 2015 to present is in the computer file "Blood Test History. Dan", as well as a paper copy in my file cabinet folder]
As I mentioned last Friday (1/31/25), I had my annual blood test for my annual physical. The physical was in October 2024, and I finally got around to the rest - mostly to see if the Rosuvastatin made much difference for my cholesterol (I started taking it around the first of the year).
Fortunately everything looked about the same as always or better - particularly my cholesterol! Here is a comparison from the past few years:
- Cholesterol: 166 (2025), 231 (2023), 221 (2022), 226 (2021), 229 (2019) - you can see it was down quite a bit not only over the past 5 years, but it was also the lowest I've ever had.
- HDL: 52 (2025), 53 (2023), 60 (2022 & 2021), 51 (2019)
- LDL: 81 (2025), 151 (2023), 147 (2022), 144 (2021) 144 (2019) - another one that really dropped.
- Non-HDL Chol: 114 (2025), 178 (2023), 161 (2022), 213 (2021), 178 (2019) - ditto
- Triglyceride: 163 (2025), 137 (2023), 71 (2022), 106 (2021), 171 (2019) - this one seems all over the place for some reason; plus, as I said Friday, they used to suggest it be below 200 and now it's 150 for some reason.
So, yes, I do think I will stay on the cholesterol medicine. Whether these numbers mean anything to anyone other than pharmaceutical reps I do not know, but as long as I can afford the medicine, why not.
My doctors office called today to make sure I'd seen my results. The nurse said the only thing my doctor mentioned was the Sodium (which was 133 and should be between 136-145), which we will just keep an eye on. Sounds good to me!
One thing I'd like to find out someday is my blood type, and my ferritin number. I'll have to try to remember that next time it comes up...
