We both had an eye exam last Friday. My last "annual" exam was in February of ... 2022. Once again we went to the Eye Exam Center at Costco. Last time was with Optometrist Danielle; this year was with Daniel. Ha! That's about the only change...
I have no idea what these numbers are or what they mean but my "Spectacle Rx" from 2022-2025 went from:
OD SPH: -2.25 to -2.25OD CYL: -1.00 to -0.75OD AXIS: 180 to 180OD ADD: +2.25 to +2.25OS SPH: -2.25 to -2.25OS CYL: -1.00 to -1.00OS AXIS: 143 to 135OS ADD: +2.25 to +2.25
Basically my prescription did not change much and the doctor said I didn't need new glasses unless I wanted to get them. I laughed and said, "Uh, no thanks. These are fine!" :)
On this year's receipt is this ICD-10 section, which I'm assuming is some kind of notes. There are six for me, and the doctor said not to be worried about the names - basically it just means I'm getting older.
- H52.13 Myopia, bilateral
- H52.223 Regular astigmatism, bilateral
- H52.4 Presbyopia
- H43.813 Vitreous Degeneration, Bilateral
- H25.813 Combined Forms of Age Related Cataract
- H53.019 Changes in retinal vascular appearance, unspecified eye
M'yeah... whatever.
I also thought it was interesting that in 2022 my exam cost $102, and this year it was $100 even. That's probably due to the new president, you know. Lol.
So, I had an uneventful visit to the eye doctor, and that was just fine with me. Jane, on the other hand, got to select a new pair of spectacles - plus an extra pair on sale that she had tinted for sunglasses. :)
