Give me jesus

This is one of my favorite songs of all time. I remember the first time I saw Fernando Ortega in concert and heard him do it... it did something in me. And I love seeing Fernando - when he does shows it's like he's sitting in your living room having a chat with you - But I love this song even more. I like to play the recording of it when we take communion.

Interestingly, they did this at the church service we attended last Sunday, and it inspired me to buy the music online so we could start doing it as a church. Then, son Isaac sent me the song list for this Sunday (he's leading the music), and it was one he suggested.

There aren't a lot of good versions on youtube, but I think this old one is the best. I like the cello solo. I think you'll like it.

funny. I posted a different version on my blog a few minutes ago, before seeing your blog. i was very touched by Isaac and Levi singing this today and have decided that it is a perfect sound track for sweeping up the ashes after crashing and burning.

Maybe I'm biased, but I think that yesterday I heard the best version of this song ever.

I will have to say, it is one of my favorites as well. I always thought Rich Mullins' songs were the best, but this one tops my list. I will also agree with Carrie, that yesterday's playing has been by far my favorite.
