Daughter Carrie turned 27 years old yesterday. That's pretty hard to believe. We took her and Anna out for supper last night. She chose Logan's. And we were able to surprise her by having Isaac and Ricci show up without her knowing about it! I was glad they were able to come.
Carrie took Anna to the zoo during the day. Then we met for supper, and then we all went to Carrie's house afterward. Anna hadn't had a nap so she was a bit tired, but she was good as usual. We gave Carrie her card at supper, and gave her the same gift we gave Isaac (money). Drew came home from work while we were there. And, of course, Lady dog was there too.
It maybe wasn't as spectacular as some of her birthdays, but at least she was here, and we were here... I thought it was a nice time.
For the record, Carrie is still working as a full-time stay-at-home mom. Anna is 16 1/2 months old, and the second baby is due in October. She is a much better parent than we were at that age, and I am very proud of her and Drew for choosing to raise their children the way they do. They're both pretty amazing.
