Fastest mile and 5k

Yesterday I ran my fastest mile (7:53) and 5k (24:45) - at least since having my gps watch. Although I realized later that it included having to wait for a car on Winchester as well as climbing down the embankment to get onto the trail, so I'm thinking I can do it even faster. But... who's really counting anyway. I was really just trying to see how fast I could run a 5K (3.1 mi.). And, man, it wore me out. I went ahead and jogged another 2 miles afterward, but I was beat.

I ran the route behind Walmart. I'm starting to prefer that route for some reason. Maybe because I hardly ever see anyone back there. There are a lot more people on the way to Foster Park. Which probably isn't a good thing that I'm wanting to avoid people, but... I guess it's just a phase I'm in.

Actually, I haven't been too into running lately. I don't know if it's since I've finally done 13 miles... Like, well, I did that, so now what? I don't know. It could just be the mood I'm in. At any rate, I was happy to break 25 minutes for a 5k. Can't imagine doing it much faster than that, but I suppose it's possible  - especially if I was in a race with other people. I'd rather not push it that hard though. I don't really need to "beat" anyone. This is just a health and exercise thing for me. I guess.

I am amazed. You have to at least keep running until next fall. I will need some people to motivate me.
