Yesterday we went to church at Trier Ridge, just down the street. It was pretty similar to what we do as far as Sunday worship goes. They have a lot more people involved in the day-to-day events of the church than we do though. Which has its positives and negatives, I suppose. They also have a new pastor. He seemed nice.
Last night we then drove down to Payne's in Gas City and met up with the Feipel's and Isaac and Ricci to celebrate Isaac and Carrie's birthdays. Payne's is a neat little place just off I-69 at exit 259. I had been there before to meet some people. I heard it was built when they were building the new James Dean museum there - but the museum has since closed (and moved back to its old location, I believe). Anyway, it's not a real big place inside, and unfortunately it started to rain just as we arrived otherwise we would have sat outside. So we kind of took over the place with the eight of us. But the staff were super nice. Our waiter even took this nice family pic of all of us. I had the Turkey & Bacon burger and it was fantastic. The beef stew looked really good too.
We had already given both kids their gift of money, but last night we also gave them each a small swiss pocket knife (again). Hopefully they won't lose this one quite so fast as the last one. :)
All in all it was a pretty good day. Today we have a funeral to attend, and it is raining.

I like Anna's pose. It's like a sitting "Captain Morgan".
