Getting stuff done: farm, resume, etc....

Yesterday was a rather interesting day. There was the usual - laundry, reading, praying, meditation and stuff (not necessarily in that order) - but also some unusual.

I started the day with my regular Thursday morning pastor's breakfast. It was just Steve and myself yesterday. We had a good chat at Spyro's East (because it's the 3rd Thursday of the month). Then I went home and started filling out the online application to be a substitute teacher for Fort Wayne Comm. Schools. That was a bit more time-consuming than I anticipated. But I contacted all three people I wanted to use for references and got their approval (Mike, Lance and Tim). I also had to attach a resume. I haven't had a stinking resume for a long time, and I'm thinking they have maybe changed a bit since I last needed one. So I googled "how to write a resume" and read up on it a bit. I ended up using a template on Microsoft Word. I just made the simplest of simple resumes. It seemed alright to me, but obviously I don't know much of anything. Anyway, I got that done and finished the online application. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do now, but I did at least get an email confirmation that they received it.

After all that I finally noticed that it was the middle of the afternoon. I finished up the laundry and checked the mail. We had our yearly FARM CHECK from Jane's brother Terry. Yippee!!! That is always nice to get. And... I don't think I've mentioned this yet... but we are also selling the farm. We sold it to Terry's son. That way, since it was one of the original pieces of property in Jane's family, it will now continue on in the family for the 7th generation. So, all that to say, we got the paperwork from the lawyer to finalize the sale.

Other than that... I wrote a couple of long overdue emails. I'm hoping they were received with the spirit in which they were written. I am not overly confident the one will be but at least it's a start. I know I'm not the easiest person in the world to get along with, but at least I think I TRY. So, we'll see.

And that was what I did yesterday.
