Two-party saturday

Yesterday (Saturday) we had two parties to attend. First our church held their annual "Just Come" Dinner. They invite people from the church and the neighborhood to "just come" and have a meal together, and then Andy B. gave a short concert. Jane and a bunch of other people volunteered to make a pan of lasagna. They gave everyone a foil pan to take home, and we took it to the church at 3 pm. Then you could go eat from 4-6 pm, and the concert was from 6-6:45 pm. We met the Feipel's there and it was kind of nice to just sit back and enjoy. They served lasagna, salad, drinks, and several pies and cookies for dessert.

After we left there we went to Mike's annual Christmas party. This is the first time we've been able to stay past 10 pm - since I didn't have to be up early to preach on Sunday. This was also the first time Drew Carrie were invited. So we arrived about 8 pm and Jane brought these little bread, cream, tomato, cucumber things, as well as something else that I can't remember. Carrie brought sausage meatballs. There was a good crowd, though probably not as many as some years. It was a blast nonetheless. At 10 pm we started playing Catchphrase. We kind of play it like Hot Potato, and if you're holding it when it goes off, you lose and have to pay the consequences. We played, with intermittent breaks, until 1:30 am or so. I think we got home around 2:30 am. I'm glad we didn't have to be at church until 11 am. A fun, fun time - both parties.
