Isaac turns 29
Today is son Isaac's 29th birthday. At least I think I did the math right (2017-1988). My how time flies. It seems only yesterday he was the happy kid who just wanted to watch movies in his sweat pants all day long to... well, I think he still likes to watch movies in his sweat pants... but is also a hard and studious worker.
I never would have guessed where life would take us, and he is no different. From the village of our hometown to Ohio, Indiana, and now Georgia (with many travels around the globe for him in between) - he has seen much. And we always thought he would be the home-body! :)
For the record, he just finished his Mdiv at the Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. He will now begin work on his Phd at Emory, as well as continue working several part-time jobs at the school as he has done since he started there.
He and Ricci's family has grown to include two dogs now (Crosby and Tig), and they will actually be moving into new digs this month. The house they've rented for the past three years has served them well. They've been asked to house-sit for a year in a very nice home in Stone Mountain for the parents of one of Ricci's students. I believe they move towards the end of this month. Isaac also recently got his '73 Honda 350 out of the shop and will be dodging Atlanta traffic on that (much to our dismay).
It will be interesting to see what the next year brings. We couldn't have asked for any more for either of our kids, and are very proud not only of their accomplishments but the people they have become as well. God has certainly blessed us in this regard. I have enjoyed seeing his handiwork in Isaac's life.
