Huzzah! We went out and bought ourselves a TV Sound Bar!!!
Our favorite TV channel lately has been GritTV. It plays old westerns. However, it seems the volume is always lower on this particular channel, so we're always having to crank it way up.
I don't know what gave me the idea the other day, but I suggested to the missus that we look into a sound bar for the TV (the one in the basement). I did a little bit of research, and it seemed the Vizio SB3621n-E8 was the best one for under $200.
They had reconditioned ones advertised for $99, but none were in stock. So, I decided to just hop over to the nearest Walmart yesterday and grab a new one for $148.
I got it hooked up in... not too much time... and it is marvelous, darlings!
Now we can watch movies, and sporting events, and LISTEN TO MUSIC, and there is actually bass (thanks to the super sub-woofer)!
Once I got it connected I sat downstairs for a good bit and just listened to music. I had it on the Bob Dylan channel on Pandora. It was sweet. :)
It does feel a little like an unnecessary extravagance, but at least it's something we will use... and appreciate.
