So we're all supposed to be staying home (or most of us anyway) during this coronavirus pandemic... What to do? I sat down and came up with 50 things to do in very little time. I'm sure there are about 50 million more if we all put our heads together. While it's not exactly '50 Ways to Leave Your Lover,' it could be '50 Ways to NOT Leave Your House.' Here is my initial list:
LEARN -
- a new language
- a hobby
- "new math"
- how to solve a Rubiks Cube
- read a book
- write a book
- write a letter
- join an online book club
- listen to music
- practice a musical instrument (or learn how to play one)
- finish a project
- your dryer vent pipe
- under and behind the refrigerator
- the junk drawer
- closets
- under the bed
- baseboards
- register vents
- the interior of your car
- medicine cabinet
- door knobs
- outlet/switch cover plates
- picture frames and glass
- drapes/blinds
- window/door screens
- shampoo your carpet
- shampoo upholstery/furniture
- under your sink
- silverware drawer
- cupboards
- storage room/space
- garage
- make a list of things to do!
- replace your washing machine hoses
- test smoke detectors
- change furnace filters
- paint a room(s)
- refinish a piece of furniture
- take a walk
- meditate (mental exercise)
- yoga
- watch online or televised workout (and participate)
- play board games/cards
- put a puzzle together
- transfer video and cd's to electronic file
- yardwork (weather permitting)
- file your taxes
- fill out the census
- flip your mattress
- bake a cake
And there you have it! Did you notice that most of these don't even require the internet or your phone? There is really a LOT of stuff we can do... when we don't have anything to do. Unfortunately it doesn't pay. It might, however, keep us from going stir-crazy...
